  1. To support student learning the Internet is a great tool. There are so many sites with information that are available. Blogs and Wikis can be used to support AND assess student learning. Communication through these tools as well as email can only enhance student performance. You just have to keep check and monitor students while they're doing their research!

  2. The internet is a wealth of information and activities that students can use in the classroom. Communication is a key tool that teachers can use to reach out and monitor student activity and ideas. Technology will help students and teachers reach their potential in learning and teaching.

  3. Technology is a means of getting students more involved with their learning. Through interactive operations, students can be involved with hands-on learning that increases not only their knowledge, but also their adeptness with technology. Kids and technology go hand-in-hand. Oft times students tune out a book, lecture, or written work, but will be receptive to technology tools for learning.

  4. There are many ways to assess student learning using the internet. Students may use a variety of assessments, all children learn and achieve in different ways. The internet allows students to us hand on activities without making a mess and cluttering the classroom.

  5. Access to rubric makers via the internet is a huge help in assessing for the teacher. It provides clarification for expectations as well as a better explanation of a grade as opposed to a percentage only.

  6. Technology can help us as teacher vary our methods of delivery and assessment. We all learn differently and need different types of challenges. This stands to reason that we should have a variety of things in our bag of trick to assess students.

  7. Technology can be used to support student learning through links to additional information that is more interesting to the students. It can also be used to assess their learning through blogs and online tests, etc. Students are more apt to respond to this type of teaching and assessment.

  8. Students are surrounded by technology in their everyday lives: games, toys, cell phones, computers, etc.. This is what they enjoy. Therefore, it only makes sense to change our method of teaching to adapt to the 21st century learner. We have learned about so many awesome sites to aid us in assessing our students.

  9. I will use the many sites to continue to improve my classroom. I have and will continue to use lesson plan sites and rubric sites. Now, I plan to attempt using Wikis in my classroom. I look forward to attempting this mostly to have students be able to use templates.

  10. Technology is wonderful as long as we have access to the internet. In my classroom I have only one computer, although I could go to one of the two computer labs we have, and work on our technology. I need to start thinking differently about using the technology in my class, rather than keep doing the same old thing, singing songs from the music book and teaching notes and rhythms from paper. If I could somehow find a site that I could have the students learn reading music, we could use that in the computer lab. Searching around last year I did find a "quiz" site we could use, and I may give it a try.

  12. I see technology as a hugh resource and way to connect to examples from many formats. It can make the students see that they are connected to the world. Assessing student work on the computer can be more fun as the students see their words/work on the internet/whiteboard/or computer screen. Students can respond to my questions or their own comments at the same time and/or at their own pace for differentiated instruction.

  13. Technology can be used to actively engage students in the learning. It will be beneficial to all learning styles due to its visual and hands on capabilities. You could get immediate feedback on students' learning through WIKIs or blog sites.
