  2. The possibilities are endless. Sites for research, blogging, setting up wikis - all of these are great tools that would engage students' interest immediately. Kids know about these things (and more) and would much rather do things on the computer than pencil/paper activities.

  3. The resources of the internet are great for students who use them properly and efficently. Unfortunately at the high school level, students can abuse these resources. Only with careful teacher monitoring and instruction will students fulfill the potential of using the resources available.

  4. The internet can provide multiple ways for students to show what they know. They can learn to research topics, create a site, blog with classmates about topics in the classroom. In the 21st Century students are exposed to so much technology that we would be unwise not to take advantage of that.

  7. The impact of the Internet on student learning is endless. The Internet gives students immediate access to communication with people, and answers/information on any topic. It is no double a valuable resource and we need to make sure our students are taught how to use up-to-date technology. However, we need to keep in mind that all students don't have access to the Internet at home and class time should be provided. Also, I wonder if the immediate feedback from the Internet and video games contributes to the impatience of society.

  9. The Internet is a trove of tools to use to vary concept implementation. With the advent of most of our students being "gamers" and used to the pull of fast paced feedback and interaction, the Internet is a logical "turn to" for teaching.

  10. As a music class, we could use skype to link to another music classroom and sing songs with them. This could be very helpful at Music Festival time when we're getting ready to sing with the rest of the county choirs. Using e-mail to send and receive messages to parents could be very helpful at concert time so parents would know exactly where their child would need to be, and when. This has been a problem in the past, as parents don't always get the paper notes that are sent home.

It has me thinking of exciting new ways to share information with my students and their parents, such as a class blog.
